NASA/TERC | Myriad

The astronauts aboard the International Space Station photograph the Earth hundreds of times every day. These scientifically important (and often beautiful) images are stored in a massive database, but are not accessible to the public, nor are they “geo-located” to their precise position on Earth. We’re working with NASA and TERC in Cambridge to create an online application that will correspond with the on-orbit target acquisition software that we helped create to allow “citizen scientists” to view, save, comment on, and pinpoint the position of these images.
